PMC conducts third party Animal Welfare Audits in the areas of broiler pullet – breeder production.
These audits are based on current NCC animal welfare guidelines and conducted by PAACO certified animal welfare auditors. Specific areas that must be covered in the Pullet and Breeder AW audit are:
• management responsibilities for animal welfare
• animal welfare training
• emergency plan
• feed & water
• on farm best management practices(BMPs)
• transportation from the farms to processing plant
• chick services
• health & veterinary care.
Pullet and Breeder animal welfare auditors receive special training because of the differences in these operational requirements. Only the best growers are selected for these animals and expectations are high.
Auditors give special attention to bio security practices for pullet and breeder production farms.
